A Child Leads the Way and Saves the Day

I heard a respected evangelist say he was going to die in a beautiful work suit and not in a hospital gown because he believes every word of God. He believed Psalms 91:15-16 which says, “He shall call upon me and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”  He said his logic for his position was that if he died at the present time from a hospitalized illness, God’s word to him would not have been fulfilled. He explained, “I will die in my occupational suit which implies that, “I will be old and active.” He honored God’s word.

John 17:17 says, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” One of the definitions of “lying” is naturally enough: untruthfulness, so untruthfulness is lying. We should rebel against anything that is contrary to the scriptures like my friend the evangelist said. Twice this year I have rebelled against the doctors’ admonition that I might die soon. I rejected it. By God’s grace I am still alive because He had already shown me when I would face my death. If we don’t believe the word we are believing a lie. Revelation 22:15 says, “For without (the Kingdom of God) are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loves and makes a lie.” Half of the scriptures we looked up regarding Revelation 22:15 translates the word “dogs” as filthy curs: sorcerers, fornicators, murderers, idolaters, all who love and live lies or they refer to “dogs” as perverts and depraved men and many of them place a colon after the word dogs to mean that this word “dogs,” applies to all of those situations. It is no reference to an actual dog. If you want to get any bolder than that, Revelation 21:8 “…all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” These scriptures I write are primarily to warn those who, “…perish because they receive not the love of the truth that they might be saved.” (2Thessalonians 2:10) And to remind those who are in union with Christ but still lie, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1John 1:9)

A Child Leads the Way and Saves the Day

The principal scripture of this article is Isaiah 11:6 which says, “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.” This word “child” means a “pre-adolescent.”  This child is not George Bush, George Washington, or By George, anyone you would know, but by God she is someone very special. An important but secondary scripture is Isaiah 11:7 which is right next to the one about the child. It says, “And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.”

I have had bears run from me, run after me, walk over me and play ring around a tree with me. Believe me when a grizzly bear decides to have you for lunch you know you are facing a formidable adversary. His head is bigger than yours and if he is trying to get you, you will soon be convinced that his brain is also bigger than yours. With one swipe of his paw he can remove a cows head or yours. Wikipedia says the most reported incidents of animals becoming man eaters are: tigers, leopards, lions, and crocodiles. Barring crocodiles, the other creatures are identified in these scriptures and are led by a little child. What do these scriptures teach us and why on earth would God seem to be celebrating when a child is leading lions and wolves with bears hanging out with a calf? God says, “I am doing a new thing.” (Isaiah 43:19) We are very near that new thing.

I used to live in Grand Rapids, MI. I did not know there was an actual rapids on the Grand River there. I was only two years old! Later on I discovered that the city was originally established by Native American Chief Noonday on the rapids in the Grand River. To me this enlightenment was a new thing but the rapids and the river have existed, perhaps, since the beginning of creation. The new thing was an old thing that was new to me. Right now God has placed the fear of man (Genesis 9:2) within the animals to protect some of them. This does protect some of them, but things are about to be made new partially through what we do. We have got a forecast of these things to come in what happened in “Heart of a Lioness” photographed by Saba Douglas-Hunter. This documentary shown on Animal Plant around 2005 showed a lioness protecting and Oryx, one of the lion’s normal foods since the fall of man. It would be tremendous if you could get an uncut copy of the documentary. On it, the natives called this inter-animal reaction both “a miracle and a sign from God.”  Whether you know it or not or believe it or not, you must come to believe that God is in charge of this change and not even the animals will believe you unless you believe the Word of God pertaining to this situation and every promise He makes, but still, why should a child lead these once dangerous animals? It has already been established that change is happening where animals are exposed to their enemies who show love. But, one would think it takes more than that to bring about a full transformation.

The disciples got bothered because children were pressing in to see Jesus and in Matthew 19:14, He tells them, “Suffer the little children and forbid them not to come unto me for of such is the kingdom of Heaven.” This archaic word, suffer actually means to send speedily or to deliver up.  So what Jesus was really saying is, “Speedily send and deliver up the little children unto me.” He earlier had explained to the disciples that, “Verily, I say unto you, except you be converted and become as little children, you shall not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.” (Matthew 18:3) Little children are easily convinced and pure of heart! In Matthew 5:8 He proclaims, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” The word see, speaks of gazing with wide open eyes as at someone remarkable. This means to focus your eyes on the person and greatness of God or to be attentive to your leader.

Once, I met a little child whose name was Celery.  She lived with a vegetarian Christian family that had a house deep in the forest, and about four in the afternoon, Celery came home.  I asked her mother where the child had been and I assumed, in kindergarten. The mother’s answer shocked me!  She walks for miles and delights to spend all day from sun up in the forest!  I shuddered, but Celery’s mother hugged her and they both happily smiled.  Her mother asked her in front of me, why she isn’t afraid she will get lost or worse.  Celery replied, “Because Jesus stays with me and I keep looking at Him.”  After the little girl went into another room, I expressed my concern and asked her mother if the parents had taught Celery that.  “Never,” she replied, “Celery expressed a desire to explore the woods and interrupted her father’s and my prayer time to tell us that Jesus appeared to her and told her that he would always go with her and keep her safe!” I do not advocate such parenting, of course, but Celery and her parents possessed a deeper confidence in the Lord than I had at that place in time! I only saw that family on one brief visit back in the late 60’s. I believe they lived in the forest in fellowship with a nearby Christian commune in the Scotia area of California, and perhaps with the angel of the Lord.  There is one more aspect of this child that I need to touch on. She was saved, focused and filled with the Holy Spirit. John 16:13 says, “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.” You too can be like this informed well informed child through the Holy Spirit.

Like Einstein I can easily leave home with one sock and one shoe on, but the Holy Spirit tells me what I should write. Jesus said, “...when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what you shall speak; for it shall be given you in that same hour what you shall speak.” (Matthew 10:19)  People facing kings and governors can be told by the Holy Spirit what to speak in such an hour. The same is true of children that have been born again. Jesus made it clear that He would come again to us in the form of the Holy Spirit. (John 14:18) If you have any argument with this, remember that the Holy Ghost was not yet given at one time because Jesus had not yet been glorified. (John 7:39) In Acts 1:4 the inspiration of God wrote that the Holy Spirit was the promise of the Father (singular). The Holy Spirit is the very most important gift we could receive at Christmas time or any time. And even a little child can receive it and walk in it whether or not you believe it. So we have concluded that a little child is capable of being innocent, pure, believing, and baptized in the Holy Ghost which shall lead all believers who ask for the Holy Spirit, into all truth and spiritual understanding. 1John 2:20 says, “But you have an unction from the Holy One and you know all things.”  The “you” in that scripture are those believers who are filled with the Holy Spirit.  Even a little child can know all things through this anointing. I included the bizarre story about Celery in this article because there is one more characteristic common to little children. The bible says at least one more thing about little children and that is found in Matthew 18:10. After reading this, I realized that including Celery in this article was a divine miracle for it says, “Take heed that you despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, that in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.”

With a transformed animal kingdom and a little child who is full of all the virtues and being baby-sat by the very spirit of God is certainly safer with lions, wolves, and leopards than the wild world we send our children out into today. One famous evangelist said today the first descriptive word for 2012 is “confusion.” I do not call it confusion although it is that, I call it “the eraser.” God is erasing all the memories we have of the 40’s, 50’s and even 60’s for the imprinting of things to come. I believe that and I see that but of course, perhaps you don’t yet have the heart of a little child. God help you!
