A Letter to Mr. Lee

I watched the CNN newscast in horror as a very young woman wickedly and wildly flung terrified puppy after puppy into a rushing river in Eastern Europe, leaving them to perish. In my spirit, Mr. Lee, I watched, before it happened, to see a sharp-shooter end your stay on Earth. I write this letter to you and to people like you. I also am a very concerned environmentalist but violence and terrorist attacks on innocent puppies or people springs directly from evil and ignorance!

An absolute fact is that, “The Lord hates the shedding of innocent blood!” (Proverbs 6:16-17) Perhaps the rapid change of events in favor of the hostages you held protected you from committing an error that you would regret for eternity. Some new agers teach that existence on this plain or planet is not real, but only a dream. One day according to that view, we will all wake up in God or primordial soup and realize there never was sin or death or even evil, it was just a dream and illusion. From one very strange perspective there is some truth to that perhaps…but even if this life is but a dream for many people, plants and animals the dream has become nothing less than a nightmare. As David the psalmist proclaimed, I too Lord shall be satisfied when I awaken with thy likeness. (Psalms 17:15) While we are here on earth in this life as we have opportunity to do good let us follow Jesus’ example: “Who went about doing good and delivering all those who were oppressed by the devil.” The scripture is very clear on this and if you open your eyes you will wisely take note of the fact that as the Living Bible says, “…the world around us is under Satan’s power and control.” (1John 5:19)

I love Oprah’s use of the phrase “light-bulb moment.” I used to say, “When the lights went on” or as the word of God calls it, “enlightenment.” Some people scoff at enlightenment but it is profoundly better than living in the dark. Spiritual and mental darkness comes or remains because of two factors: one is error and the other is cunning craftiness. The KJV describes error here in Ephesians 4:14 as the “sleight of men” and the “Cunning Craftiness” whereby they lie in wait to deceive. Sleight of men can simply mean they overlooked something but Satan is waiting to take advantage of what we didn’t know. For example, many Christians didn’t know that God has a place called Heaven for all creatures: some even on His throne. The error is in the human part of a wrong belief system but the cunning craftiness is where the Devil takes advantage of this human error and joins with it to create a tradition, value system, philosophy, action and deception design to keep us forever in the dark. As a result of that oversight, politicians and the devil himself have added their cunning craftiness to create an entire division of Christianity that is an offense to the true gospel which includes the entire creation and every creature. We know that people can make mistakes but they sometimes become whole philosophical concepts because the devil wishes that no one is ever enlightened.

God tells us to love our enemies. No where does He suggest that we hold them hostage to convince them of anything! Even many so called “devout Christians” scoff at this idea or say it is simply too difficult to do. They have missed one of several points that we are to love because we represent God who is love, but also that loving our enemies makes them ashamed of their hatred towards us. When our enemy becomes our friend it is nearly impossible for them to continue in their bad behavior! Romans 12:21 declares, “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”

The facts are as already mentioned, we live on a planet that God made, in a world system impacted by great Evil and that we are called not to ever fight evil with evil but to overcome evil with good. When you don’t know the Creator nor His effectiveness and the power of His love, you are greatly handicapped. 1John 2:13-14 celebrates the stages of enlightenment that God desires to bring into our lives: “I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known Him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because you have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you little children because you have known the Father. I have written unto you, fathers, because you have known Him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because you are strong and the word of God abides in you and you have overcome the wicked one.” Here we see examples of how through a relationship with God we over come evil with good.

It’s unfortunate that both extreme liberal and extreme conservative Christians often teach error. On the conservative side we often hear patriotism from the pews clothed as if it were the words of Jesus directed at all enemies, philosophical or otherwise, saying, “We’ll put a boot up your butt!” From some of the liberal flanks of the church who do recognize our responsibility to protect the earth and animal rights, we rarely but sometimes do hear of people like Mr. Lee who for reasons unknown go off the deep end and believe that their cause is so important that they can violate the laws of karma and God’s instruction to achieve their end. Whether we are talking about conservatives ignorantly teaching that animals don’t go to Heaven because they have no soul and advocating violence in the name of Jesus or extreme liberals who may erroneously believe we live in a world where there is no devil and therefore that no actions are evil such as abortion...we must conclude that both fall into the category of those who are “willingly ignorant.” (2Peter 3:5) To be willingly ignorant means that we choose to go on living in darkness violating divine principles and living in error. All creation and every human being suffer to the degree that this situation exists.

False premises always lead to false conclusions. If we believe that to some degree this world is not powerfully in the hands of the wicked dealing out cruelty, destruction and death in multitudes of ways, we are beginning with a faulty premise. If we believe that anything but love and the spirit of God can change this world and transform this world or if we believe that evil cannot be overcome with good we also are starting with a faulty premise. If we profess to know God and begin with false premises we will end up following an erroneous conclusion. We are here on this planet for the purposes of the Creator. If we are not the light, the enlighteners of the world as Jesus says we are to be; if we do not walk as Jesus walked; if we are not the preservers of the earth we should take another look at Romans 1:21 which says, “Because that when they knew God, they did not glorify God (express and manifest) they glorified Him not as God…but became empty headed in their imaginations and their foolish hearts were once more darkened.”

In Romans 12:1-2 it tells us to present our bodies wholly and acceptable to God which is our reasonable service and do not be conformed to this (evil) world but be transformed by the renewing of our mind (getting rid of our old ideas and replacing them with divine revelation) that we prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.

I wish, Mr. Lee that I could have told you just as Jesus said, “All you accomplish apart from me amounts to nothing.” God notices when we are doing good. God encourages us when we are doing that which is acceptable in His sight and God abides with us forever when we are walking in His perfect will. These are levels of enlightenment with corresponding transformation and action.

The majority of Christians quickly announce, “I am far from perfect (and I’m sure we are) nothing but a sinner saved by grace,” when in fact we are called to be perfect even as our Heavenly Father is perfect. (Matthew 5:48) Some Christians object to using any description of wrong action other than with the word “sin,” but I like the word error. Jesus died for our sin or error therefore, by receiving His forgiveness we need not bear guilt and condemnation, but that does not mean that there are no consequences. God may forgive you for driving down the freeway in the wrong direction but that doesn’t eliminate the reality that you may have caused a fatal accident; therefore, I prefer to use the word error. In fact all sin is error. If we love the Lord we should hate error. (Psalms 97:10)

Like many I often thought of the millennium, the coming thousand year reign of Christ, as the perfect age but it is not called the perfect age. That comes even later. It is absolutely an age where we will be living much closer to the natural world, much deeper into the divinely supernatural world and a world where we are ever increasing in our wisdom and knowledge and stature and favor with God and man. It is a world where all of nature is delivered from the impact of humanities error when we became unconsciously but willing followers of the destroyer. It is the time when the lion and the lamb lie down together and the ox and bear feed together and a little child leads them. Satan will be bound for a thousand years and yet there still will be error although it appears that it will be rare. You can analyze this for yourself as you meditate on Isaiah 65:20. It is especially clear in The Living Bible, which says, “No longer will babies die when only a few days old; no longer will men be considered old at 100! Only sinners will die that young!” I conclude therefore that while the coming age into which we are already stepping will not be perfect, it will be close to perfect. The startling thing is that humanity without any satanic influence will still occasionally choose error because of generations of practice.

From the above conclusion I must understand that we are not just sinners saved by grace. We are chosen from all of the lost ones to be enlightened and translated from the Kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of God’s dear Son who has given us not only His mind (the mind of Christ) but deposited in us His Holy Spirit which will lead us into all truth. Because of this we ought not to look at ourselves as merely sinners saved by grace but as those who are by grace being given all opportunity to discover and walk in God’s perfect will. With this sort of enlightenment and transformation we are equipped for every good work. (2Timothy 2:21)

My message is therefore to environmental activists whose hearts are broken like yours Mr. Lee because you did not have the right premises or the right conclusion: in order to effectively address the needs of the creation you must be in fellowship with the Creator (He will reject absolutely no one who comes to Him through His son who died for our sins). And my message to that part of conservative Christianity which has somehow been duped into a political agenda that excludes guarding and protecting the earth and its creatures. Any gospel which does such is no gospel at all and God warns that those who preach such a false gospel are cursed. If you do not believe that, you had better study Galatians 1:8 and the scriptures that pertain to that verse. And incorporate 1Corinthians 16:22 which says, “If any man loves not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.” Anathema Maranatha means cursed be the quick coming of our Lord Jesus. This is easy to understand if you realize two things. First, we are to be hastening the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and therefore, the coming of the Day of God (2Peter 3:12). This is also known as the Perfect Day wherein no more error exists. The Perfect Day is on the other side of the millennium. The second thing we must understand is that if we love Jesus Christ and He returns, we would want to run to His side…but if we are not really loving Him in reality, we will want to hide from Him! Imagine yourself in exactly that situation and which choice would be yours! If we cannot say that we are hasting His coming by loving Him and preaching and obeying the gospel that Paul preached, we are hindering Christ’s return. If we fail to love Christ and to be bringing His Kingdom to earth which includes all creatures and the restoration of the planet we are creating Anathema Maranatha. We are delaying His coming! I do not know if you, Mr. Lee, had some mental disorder or if you were just exhausted emotionally from realizing that so many were not listening and are not listening still. While I must vehemently reject your premises, such as the erroneous one many environmentalists cling to, that overpopulation is the problem, (and which thing I will address on my next posting) I do offer this consolation: God saw the end from the beginning. He does nothing without telling His servants the Prophets. If anyone speaks not according to the Word of God, it is because there is no light or actual revelation in them. And that God Himself, not man, will consume the wicked with the brightness of His coming!
